Organic, Natural Skincare at its Best

We love great British brands here at Verymakeupmad. Yes, we're always first to tell you when a cult, 'hard-to-get-hold-of' product from abroad hits our shores, but we'll always champion and shout about brilliant British beauty. And L'Organiq is a very special British brand which we’re loving…and we know you will too!

The story of the brand is an important one, and key to its ethos. Back in 2009 at the age of 35, Emma, the founder of L'Organiq, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and during her treatment for it, her skin really suffered and she struggled to find products that wouldn't irritate her further. Determined (but unable) to discover a totally natural brand that was accessible, affordable and available to all, Emma set about creating her own...and L'Organiq was born. She has also introduced a sister brand, Bisous, which is a capsule range of products suitable for teens and pre-teens, to encourage good skin health from an early age. And let's face it - which parent wouldn't insist on a natural brand, with no ‘nasties’ for their children's skin?

None of the products in the L'Organiq or Bisous ranges contain parabens, additives, sulphates or synthetic fragrances and their delicate scents are thanks to the inclusion of natural essential oils. They're formulated with antioxidant rich vitamins, minerals and fruit extracts - gifts from nature that boast anti-ageing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Emma has harnessed the power of nature in her products, allowing it to do what it does best! Every product is vegan and cruelty-free and Emma is committed to sustainability too, favouring recyclable and eco-friendly packaging and offering an impressive ‘Return & Reward’ programme too - return your empties to the brand and you'll receive 15% off your next purchase!

We've been trialling the range for several weeks now (as have our teenage kids!) and we're very impressed. Dry-skinned V is loving the Marula Oil Skin Serum, which is an unscented, lightweight oil, packed with marula and apricot oils, that she massages onto a clean face before moisturising. She likes to use it at night to ensure she wakes up looking radiant and glowy and feeling totally hydrated.

Resident eye cream Queen, M, is a fan of the Pro-Age Eye Cream. She's never liked an eye gel, or a product that feels too 'slippy' around her eye area. But this cream is just the right texture for her - luxurious and nourishing, but not too heavy. It's a firming and hydrating cocktail of natural oils, hyaluronic acid and shea butter, and a little goes a long way.

As for our kids, they have heaped plenty of praise onto the Bisous Clear Spot Treatment Gel, which they have declared a miracle worker for getting rid of spots. With Aloe Vera Leaf juice, Sea Buckthorn Fruit and Tea Tree Leaf oil, skin is quickly rebalanced, healed and soothed.

There are great men's products in the L'Organiq range too (M's husband has got his eye on the Infusion Beard Oil), plus bodycare must-haves. We're particularly impressed with the Detoxifying Body Scrub, which leaves rough, dry limbs delectably soft and smooth, and which smells rather yummy too.

There's something wonderfully nostalgic about these products - almost stripping things back to basics and taking all the confusion out of skincare and the numerous ingredient and product choices on the market right now. The dark amber glass bottles are reminiscent of apothecaries and stir up familiar memories of products that we grew up with and trusted.
