Hello summer! We're ready for you... sort of!! Let's face it, here in the UK, summer just seems to turn up out of nowhere for a few days, disappear and then return when you least expect it! But at least when it does return, our SPF game is strong! Introducing Ultraviolette SPF50+ Queen Screen.
We've never met an SPF50+ quite like it! It's the lightest, silkiest serum, that literally disappears into the skin, providing invisible protection. There isn't a hint of stickiness, it doesn't feel at all greasy, it doesn't pill or leave a white cast. It's so clever! Plus, it smells delicately and deliciously of roses.
It's very much a serum SPF... designed to be used - year round - as the last step in your skincare (which for us, is currently a 5 step system. Yes, it's as exhausting as it sounds... but more about that in another blog). It sits really beautifully over your moisturiser and under makeup and leaves the skin with the faintest glow.
Another exciting new discovery is Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Exfoliating Body Treatment. It's no secret that we've been loving the face peel pads for years (there's no glow to rival the glow you get when you've used these!), and now there's a body version too... we're so excited! Infused with a potent blend of acids (AHAs and BHAs) and bakuchiol, these pads work hard to buff away dead skin cells and transform dry and crepey skin. They'll even improve the appearance of skin tone and dramatically improve keratosis pilaris (bumpy backs of arms and legs, to you and us!) and ingrown hairs. Your skin will be left looking great and feeling baby soft.
Let's talk hair now, and we need to tell you about Seoulista Glossy Locks Hair Mask. We love this Korean brand of clever and effective sheet masks, and this new launch is a winner. Unlike thick, cream hair masks that tend to make a bit of a mess in your bathroom and leave you with drips of water running down your forehead, this is a clever, sealable 'turban' mask that is infused with lovely, nourishing and hydrating ingredients such as camellia oil, keratin and hyaluronic acid. Leave on for 15 minutes (or longer, if you like - we tend to leave on overnight), give the head a little massage, and when you remove it and rinse your hair, it'll be soft, shiny and silky. It's a great travel companion!
And because at Verymakeupmad we're not just about new products and launches, we thought we'd revisit an old favourite - Natasha Denona Duo Glow Powder. Oh how we love this sizeable compact with the most gorgeous, shimmering powder that lifts the face with just one swipe. It makes cheeks look gorgeously radiant and glowy and works brilliantly on eyelids too.
